Surf hardware icon Creatures of Leisure has just taken out the two key awards in their category at the 2022 SBIA Awards. The company won both Small-Medium Brand of the Year and Surf Accessory for the year. The awards, voted by surf retailers, is the premier core awards in Australia.
“Hell yes!!!” says Creatures Head of Product & Brand, Beau Campi about winning the awards. “I'm super proud of how our brand and team have navigated to great levels of success. This award really validates and celebrates our hard work, knowing our business peers appreciate what we do. A huge thanks to them for making the industry what it is.”
It is the third time running that Creatures of Leisure has taken out Surf Accessory of the Year, including last year for the SUPERLITE Leash and this year for Italo Ferreira’s signature traction. The tail pad comes in a biodegradable EcoPure® options and quickly sold out in most stores during its first run. The popular pad is now back in stock, including in new colours and a GROM option too.
“Italo is the man,” continues Beau Campi, about creating a signature tail pad for the 2019 World Champ and surfing’s first-ever Men’s Olympic Gold Medalist. “He knows what he wants - fast, bright and progressive. Building this product with him just came easy with him winning his world title riding Mick's signature traction. He added a steeper kick and threw some colour down - it was always going to be a successful recipe.”
